Everything is ready to open the second edition of the City- Planning International Congress ‘Territorios 21’, which is going to take place on 2nd and 3rd November at ‘Riojaforum’ Palace of Congresses and Auditorium, a forum where people in charge of city- planning policies, professionals and companies working in this sector aim at: promote a sostenible city-planning development and make more habitable our metropolitan areas.
After the first edition success, when lecturers talked about ‘New ways of living and residing in Europe’, in this second edition we lead our city-planning research to a even more concrete status: ‘Joinning the city-region’. The city-region that was already outlined two years ago and that is a highly competitive territory from an economical point of view, strongly cohesionated from a social perspective and respectful with its environment.
The Council of Tourism, Environment and Territorial Policy of the Government of La Rioja has been concerned about the necessity of obtaining updated information about city-planning reality in the XXI century and the importance of exchanging knowledge and experiencies with professionals and city-planning responsibles. For this purpose, we are going to meet during those days with some of the most appreciated national and international experts in this subject, who are going to develop an active participation.
La Rioja will be the world-wide capital of City-planning during two days. In this time, La Rioja is going to present itself as a city-region that articulates its development according to the new territorial culture that has to rule in the XXI century. The city-region that must determine a profile of future able to assume the excellence in those areas where it is possible to reach a competitive advantage.
‘Territorios 21’ programme joins the theoretical experience of experts on landscape, territory and city-planning strategies or city marketing techniques with the practical exposition of the city-planning development of some regions in the world.
To summarize, ‘Territorios 21’ is considered a highly recommended appointment to determine the model of the future city-planning spaces and a point of meeting and discussion that will turn La Rioja into a reference in city-planning and in the clear representation of what the ‘city-region’ in the XXI century must be.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Aránzazu Vallejo Fernández
