THE SPANISH FEDERATION OF MUNICIPALITIES AND PROVINCES
REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO THE “TERRITORIOS21” TOWN PLANNING FORUM

The event will take place at the “Rioja Forum” Congress Centre on November 8 and 9

The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) yesterday reaffirmed its commitment to the “Territorios21” International Town Planning Forum, which will be staged in Logroño on November 8 and 9, after an interview held in the capital of La Rioja between the General Secretary of FEMP, Julio Alberto Torres, and the Director General of Territorial Policy of the Autonomous Community Government of La Rioja, María Martín Díaz de Baldeón.

Torres confirmed that all of FEMP’s executive members would attend the Forum on November 8, which coincides with World Town Planning Day, and where its President, Francisco Vázquez, will give a conference on “25 years of Democratic Municipal Governments”.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the President of the Federation of Municipalities of La Rioja, José Miguel Crespo, the representatives of FEMP and the Autonomous Community Government of La Rioja coincided in highlighting the opportunity offered by this international forum to debate current issues of importance in the field of territorial planning. Both of them stressed the importance of territorial planning for the future development of cities and regions and the relevance of co-operation between Administrations and collaboration between the public sector and private agents.
