ZARAGOZA AND ITS PROVINCE WILL MAKE A QUALITATIVE LEAP
IN TERMS OF TERRITORIAL ORGANISATION

The city also aspires to become the official site of EXPO 2008.

The Managing Director of the company “Zaragoza Alta Velocidad”, María Pilar Sancho, declared that both Zaragoza and its province will undergo an extremely important transformation in the next few years at territorial organisation level. She made these declarations during her intervention at the 1st International Town Planning Forum of medium-sized City-Regions, “Territorios21”, which was held at the Riojaforum congress centre.

In her opinion, these challenges would be successfully tackled because the city in general is enjoying a period of great enthusiasm, coupled with an upswing in the production sector and labour market.

Lastly, the capital is dedicating all its efforts to achieving designation as the official EXPO 2008 site. According to Mrs. Sancho, work is certainly focusing mainly on the development of industrial areas and infrastructures, as well as on territorial organisation.
